Trunnion Ball Valve
A trunnion ball valve is a mechanical closed off valve which uses a rotating trunnion with a fixed bore. In a tumbling ball valve, there is a fixed trunnion that is fixed to a tumbler which in turn is fixed to the piston.
The most common type of trunnions used in ball valves are the push-pull. In these types of valves, a small ball is mounted to a fixed bore. In order to open or close the valve, the operator moves the trunnions around, either by pushing them up or pushing them down. These types of valves are typically used for lower pressures.
Most ball valves today are in the form of floating valves, which can be moved up and down in response to the flow pressure. Most tumbling ball valves are also floating. In these types of valves the ball is fixed and is held in place by the trunnions, or some other type of mechanism.
In tumbling ball valves, some models have two holes in one side of the ball, while in other models only one hole is available. In this case, it is not always necessary to turn the mechanism. It is advisable to turn the trunnions in such a way that they do not bind together when they are turned.
Most ball valves are operated with the help of a manual lever or a lever-operated lever. Manual valves are more practical, as it reduces the chances of jamming. In case of a mechanical closed off ball valve the operator must put the lever into the "on" position and then turn it clockwise and backwards. However, this type of valve cannot be opened and closed with the help of an electric lever, only a manual lever can do so.
Ball valves also differ in terms of their size, and therefore, they can be installed either behind or above the furnace. Since many newer models require the use of remote controls, these types of valves are also called remotely controlled ball valves.
Another difference between trunnion ball valves and the other types of ball valves is that they are usually made from steel or aluminum. The mechanism that controls the valve, whether mechanical or electronic, may be of either steel or copper.
There are two types of safety valve found in ball valves: those that prevent backflow and those that stop a backflow of air before it reaches the blower. A backflow valve is a mechanical mechanism that stops backflow when the air is flowing through the ducts that carry heating. air from the room into the furnace. A prevent backflow valve prevents backflow when the air is already in the furnace.
In high efficiency furnaces, one common problem of high heat efficiency is the increase in heating costs due to the high flow of air caused by backflow of air. This is why most newer furnaces include a preventbackflow valve. Another type of valve that is used is a thermostat control valve. This device prevents the furnace from operating at a high temperature in the event of the furnace being left on for too long.
